Kaya Savelson is a German-American multidisciplinary artist from Brooklyn, New York. Based in New York City, their
practice is rooted in collaboration, community and care, often focusing on people they are close to—friends, family, and those within the queer community. They are drawn to the hands-on nature of film photography and using alternative photographic processes to move their works into a context that is closer to the truth of real-life experiences. Their practice often deals with how people use clothing, action and their bodies to express and explore the feeling of being in between the gender binary.
